Binh Thuan Province consists of 10 groups of land and 32 indexes for land map.
In which: yellow-red soil group covers largest area of 366,130 ha (for 46.77% natural area); next is exhausted gray soil: 137,349 ha (17,54%); sea sandy soil: 117,486 ha (15.01%); alluvial soil: 87,374 ha (11.16%); black soil: 21,240 ha (2.71%); red and brown-gray soil in dry area: 11,708 ha (1.50%); Red-yellow humus soil in mountain: 10,325 ha (1.32%); stone, gravel nude leachy soil: 8,229 ha (1.06%); sloping soil: 5,102 ha (0.65%) and saline soil: 853 ha (0.11%).
- Useful capacity of land: agricultural land covers approx. 401,235 ha (for 51.25% of area). In which: - good land: approx. 82,465 ha, for 10,53% of natural area;
- Good soil: approx. 100,107 ha, for 12.79% of natural area;
- Average type: approx. 75,782 ha, for 9.68% of natural area;
- Bad soil: approx. 142,881 ha, for 18.25% of natural area.
From the above stated capacity of land, land may be really used in agricultural production in this area only covers approx. 50-60% of area upon potential, estimated as approx. 200-250 thousand ha.
