Binh Thuan has 192km of coast, offshore Phu Quy island at 120km from Phan Thiet, area of territorial waters is 52,000sq. km, as one of sea areas rich in resources of seafood; much potential to develop salt industry, tourism and sea minerals .

Total fish reserves of inshore area of Binh Thuan is 220-240 thousand tons, exploitable capacity of 100-120 thousand tons/year, in which 60% of floating fish gathering at 3 fishing grounds: Phan Thiet, Ham Tan and Phu Quy island; cuttlefish production of 10,000-20,000 tons; arca, butterfly arca with reserves of 50,000 tons, yearly workability of 25 - 30 thousand tons, concentrated in grounds: Lai Khe, Hon Rom, Cu lao Cau, Phan Ri Cua.

Inshore area of Binh Thuan sea can be used to aquiculture, salt industry and tourism: in the Province, there is over 3,000 ha tidal water surface that can be used in shrimp hatching, salt field. In which, area for shrimp hatching is 1,500 ha: gathered at Tuy Phong (575 ha), Bac Binh (50 ha), Phan Thiet (115 ha), Ham Thuan Nam (360 ha), Ham Tan (340 ha); Area capable to develop salt field is 2,000 ha in Tuy Phong, Phan Thiet, Ham Thuan Nam and Ham Tan. Moreover, there is nearly 1,000 ha water surface in pond, lake, lagoon, and irrigational works can be used to breed freshwater fish.

Binh Thuan has fine white sand beaches like Phan Thiet – Mui Ne, Doi Duong (Ham Tan), Mu Dien – Ke ga (Ham Thuan Nam) a beach along hillside with rough rock bank like Vinh Hao, Binh Thanh (Tuy Phong) has favorable conditions to develop sea tourism.
